FEAR, worry, anxiety, depression are all things we seem to live with on a daily basis…As hard as we might try this thing we call Fear just seems to follow us around. We can’t seem to think about anything much without a fearful thought popping into our heads, but where does all this FEAR come from?
Well I’d like to introduce you to your INNER CHILD… there is a little person inside of you, the person you were as a child, who was not in control of anything that happened in your childhood. All the control was left up to your parents and caregivers. These people showed you how to think and behave, and set up in you a belief system that matched their own.
How you were treated as a child, set up a pattern of thinking within you, that you still carry with you today. For example: if money was scarce and you were told that money is hard to come by, and you must work hard for it, then most likely this is still your belief around money today. In turn this set up a fearful thinking about money and survival in life.
The point is here that you don’t have to agree with your childhood beliefs now that you are an adult. What we often don’t realise is that we get addicted to a certain way of thinking, feeling or behaving, and as such we get stuck in a pattern of fearful thinking.
This is a very large topic and I only wish to touch on it here to get you thinking about it, but the good news is that you don’t have to stay with the negative, fearful thinking pattern for the rest of your life unless you choose to.
JOY, SUCCESS, HAPPINESS and a life without FEAR are all yours for the taking…
So how do we release this fear and start to live in a joyful way, excited to be alive, excited for whatever comes next?
Get to know your INNER CHILD…
When you start to learn about yourself on a deeper level; when you start to explore why you think and feel the way you do about things, you begin to observe your own beliefs and behaviour. You can’t change something unless you know how, why and when it is happening to you.
So the first step is to get to know your Inner child more fully. Take some time to be alone, sit alone in front of a mirror and look into your own eyes, talk to the person you see reflected back at you, and ask they how they feel… you can go back to your childhood and talk about things that occured, maybe something made you sad or afraid, bring up the fear and look at it with your inner child.
Your Inner child may surprise you. You may start to recall things that have been buried for years but soon you will see what it is that creates the FEAR that keeps surfacing in your life.
Just do a few minutes a day, absorb what you see and feel…and finish each session by looking into the mirror and telling your Inner Child ” I love you”…
Please leave me your thoughts and comments below, I’d love to hear from you…
