The popular definition of MEDIATION is to use one’s mind to focus, contemplate or to think about something with the hope of quieting the MIND enough to hear the voice of one’s own INTUITION, or SPIRIT and to find a space where we feel peaceful.
However, many people say they have tried Meditation and it doesn’t work for them for various reasons; they can’t sit still for that long, their mind keeps on wandering from topic to topic, there isn’t enough time in the day or they just can’t keep focussed on the one thing the Meditation is suggesting.
The reason so many find it difficult to Meditate is because they are trying to do the impossible. It is not actually possible to shut down the mind completely enough to be able to think of absolutely nothing and be 100% focussed on something else.
If you want to hear the answers in the Silence of your own Intuition, you need to find a place to sit alone even just for a few minutes. You don’t need any special equipment, no ideal clothes, or yoga mat is needed. Just be alone for about 5 minutes to begin with.
Concentrate on only your breathing, let the thoughts come and go as they will, but keep bringing your focus back to your breathing each time…after a short while and with some practice you will slow down your mind enough to ask your intuition for guidance on any topic you choose.
Aside from our own spirit we have many guides, or non physical entities, just waiting in the wings to help us with any problems we may be experiencing or with any creative ideas we need. These guides will not help us until we invite them in though, and this is done through thought.
Practice each day for just a few minutes, and this will get easier, and you will find yourself falling back into this Silent, Peaceful place whenever your need it.
If you wish to heighten your intuition and open your third eye to see more possibilities, simply close your eyes and look at the inside of your eyelids. At first this may feel a bit funny in the area of your third eye ( just above the bridge of your nose), but that sensation will soon pass and images will appear to you. Ask questions of your higher self and see the answers there…
